Edify was founded in early 2024 by Ed Barry, a hospitality operator turned entrepreneur. Before launching Edify, Ed built and grew Over Under, a successful chain of coffee shops in London, which he exited to Blank Street in 2022.

While running Over Under, Ed experienced the daily operational friction that most café and QSR operators face. Manual stock takes, fragmented ordering processes, and scattered systems made it difficult to stay in control. After joining Blank Street and seeing those same inefficiencies at scale, it became clear that these challenges were common across the industry.

That insight led to the creation of Edify, a platform designed to simplify and automate back-of-house operations. Built by operators for operators, Edify helps cafés, coffee chains, and quick service restaurants save time, reduce waste, and run more efficiently.

What began as a solution to one founder’s frustration is now helping hospitality teams streamline their operations and scale with confidence.
